I am currently working on my diploma thesis in which I will contruct an interactive museum exhibit allowing users to explore and play medieval music on authentic replicas of instruments from that time.
It is part of the REX-project that aims to build a new museum/visitor centre in Regensburg about the history of this beautiful city. The working title of my system is "REXband".
A first working prototype with only one instrument, a hurdy gurdy, already exists and was successfully presented to press and potential sponsors in Regensburg last summer. The next steps will be to further improve the exhibit, build more instruments and explore new ways to facilitate and enrich the user experience.
